Hello Everyone!
I’m Satvik, and last year I had the pleasure of being able to serve and represent you as your elected official in the Student Union. This year, I am proud to tell you that I will be running for Sophomore Caucus with Gitae Park. A bit about myself, currently, I am on the Congressional Debate team here at Stuyvesant. Through middle school, I changed schools three times before settling down in NEST+M where I spent 7th and 8th grade. Shifting between middle schools taught me how to build connections quickly and learn to understand and relate to large groups of people in short amounts of time.
As a result, last year, I really came to understand what our class (as a grade) likes best. For example, I know that you guys like creating art and poetry more than you like making TikToks or watching Netflix. I know that 40% of you live in Queens, 30% in Brooklyn, and 18% live in Manhattan which means the ideal location for an event outside of school would be around lower Manhattan.
This brings me to what I believe ultimately puts us ahead of any other ticket- the fact that Agnihotri & Park is the only ticket that offers a thorough understanding of this position and the responsibilities it entails. To put it as the 19-20 (last year’s) Sophomore Caucus President said, Freshman caucus is about learning the ropes. Now that we’ve gone through the process once, it allows us to streamline all the rigid and boring administrative responsibilities that come with the position. Having gotten those out of the way, it allows us to focus on creating more opportunities for the Sophomore class that directly benefit you. In addition to having streamlined efficiency, I am confident that Gitae and I can effectively handle anything that comes our way. Last year I got to witness how dedicated Gitae is and his unequivocal work ethic. I want to make it a point to hold true to last year’s promise of transparency and support. Throughout last year, I made it a priority to keep my inbox open for questions, suggestions, or requests. Google Forms and Surveys were almost always in emails to acknowledge and incorporate your input into the decisions and responsibilities we maintained as a caucus. While there was the obvious disruption of COVID-19, I really hope I was able to help make last year as enjoyable to you as it was for me. I want to thank each and every one of you for letting me be your representative and I hope to continue to hold your support through next year and years to come.
Yours Truly,

Satvik Agnihotri,
Sophomore Caucus President Candidate
Hello to our sophomore class of 2023. I’m Gitae Park. I was Chief of Staff last year on the Freshman Caucus team. Having already finished one quarter of our high school years, we’re about to start the second one in a new fashion. With the school split into remote and blended groups and classes continuing to be taught virtually, it’s hard for students to grasp what the future will look like. That’s why I believe, now more than ever, we need a strong Sophomore Caucus that can serve and represent the student body. I would like to take it under my responsibility to try to solve problems students are facing and to lead and help the students in any way my abilities can serve them. Also, being the Chief of Staff for the Freshman Caucus last year has allowed me to better understand the school’s systems and has prepared me to carry out the responsibilities in a caucus. It has also given me the opportunity to form a partnership with Satvik, a very hardworking person, and I am more than confident that we will be able to work together very well in the direction of a common goal to support the Stuyvesant community.
Now a bit about myself. I was born in Seoul, Korea and then I moved to Nashville, Tennessee after about a year. After going through my elementary school years there, I moved to Shanghai, China for my middle school years. Although it was a sudden transition for me, it was an experience that impacts me till today. I not only got to understand the language and culture there and make many lasting friendships, but I also got to become a more adaptable person, which is something I think as critical when being part of a team. I started playing the piano when I was about four years old and I went to Shanghai Conservatory of Music in China. Currently, being the piano accompanist of the Oratorio Choir in Stuy, I enjoy collaborating with the musicians here. Over my one year here, I’ve come to realize that when Stuyvesant students come together to accomplish something, the end result is always something unique and original. Whether it’s coming together to organize an event, a play, a musical or to accomplish certain goals, we’re always able to produce phenomenal results. That’s why I want to collaborate and work together with the students of the sophomore class because I believe we, together, can make great changes beneficial to the whole here.
As a conclusion, I hope my short introduction here has gained some of your trusts as a prospective candidate for the Sophomore Caucus. Satvik and I, if given the honor of being the Sophomore Caucus, will try our best to make sophomore year the best it can be. So please, consider voting for our ticket.
Thank you!
Gitae Park
Sophomore Caucus Vice President Candidate
